Calcium Buildup in the Toilet: Why does It Happen and How to Get Rid of It?

  • 2023-04-12 17:01:47

Hard water contains high amounts of dissolved minerals, including calcium and magnesium. When water flows through your pipes, some of these calcium and magnesium minerals are left behind. Over time, these minerals can build up, causing unsightly stains and scaling. If it's really bad, a buildup of limescale and calcium can clog the spout just below the rim of the toilet, causing a slow, weak flush.

To remove calcium buildup from your toilet, use vinegar or another acidic cleaner. Acid breaks down mineral deposits so you can brush them away. Always take the necessary safety precautions when using cleaning agents. Wear gloves and goggles, and open windows for ventilation.

Of course, you can also choose Oceanwell smart toilet. Oceanwell has models with decalcification function, allowing you to easily solve toilet cleaning problems.
