How to Clean an Electronic Bidet

  • 2025-02-20 11:01:03

Cleaning your electronic bidet regularly can keep your precious bidet running smoothly and your rear area free of germs and "particles." Thankfully, cleaning a bidet is no more difficult than cleaning the rest of your toilet.

While some electronic bidets come with self-cleaning nozzles, most bidet attachments require occasional cleaning. Make up a soapy water solution in a small bowl – a 1:1 solution of water and white vinegar works well too. Dampen a rag, paper towel, or brush with the solution and remove any debris. Wipe the nozzle with a dry rag to remove any residue.

It’s also a good idea to clean your filter every few months. The filter is the part that connects the hose to the toilet water shutoff valve. If it is never cleaned, it can become clogged with minerals and sediment, preventing the bidet from functioning properly. Start by turning off the water shutoff valve and flushing the toilet to remove any remaining water from the system. Next, unscrew the water line nut and use a soft-bristled toothbrush to remove any debris from the filter. After cleaning, reattach the hose and open the water shutoff valve.

Lastly, clean the electronic bidet. Unplug the bidet to clean the bidet body. (You will need to plug it back in when cleaning the nozzles.) Remember not to use harsh chemicals on the bidet seat (or nozzle). Hot water and a rag usually do the trick. Never spray bathroom cleaner directly into the nozzle or onto the bidet seat as this may damage the nozzle.
